get your bats: punk dancing for self defense !
illustration from L.W.R. Wenckebach for In De Muizenwereld by Agatha Snellen (Netherlands, 1894) — this book looks amazing! and this show is going to be amazing.
* also! since people are asking (which is awesome), i might have some posters left at the show, but if not i’ll bring some to the walking distance distro table at the mtl anarchist bookfair on saturday 19 may (not sunday).
our band-off band for the St Henri cover-band-off (2010) at the Decadent Squalor. i still don’t wanna grow up.
(about band-off: Participants met three weeks earlier and put the names of their favorite, most cover-able bands in one hat, and their own names in another. Bands were created by drawing three to five members’ names out of the hat, and then one (or two) band(s) to cover. After three weeks, each band performed two to four covers and one mandatory original.)

one of my favorite photos of the sugar factory. i can’t wait for spring & upping the canal punx.

mooring hypothesis // by syn- atelier d’exploration urbain (2001-2008)
i’m re-editing an article about the turcot yards as a queer sublime, and i always come back to this project by syn-, where they put picnic tables in various sites & documented their use over time. such a good, simple gesture that is simultaneously aesthetic & social. i wish this table was still there.
